What a WONDERFUL opportunity, Pastor Robert - and Kenya is filled with very amazing, on fire Christian brothers and sisters who will give you a warm welcome and Habari!! I have an online friend--a selfless servant of the Lord Jesus Christ--who has been living with and ministering to the poorest of the poor in Kenya. She went there ON HER OWN - without any sponsorship--at the age of 62...recently recovered from breast cancer--because JEHOVAH told her she was to go to Kenya. She moved around quite a bit over the past 21 years - now lives in a makeshift adobe 'house' in UGUNJU - I don't know how far away that is from where you will be ministering. Her name is Joetta Smith and her mission is called TREASURE KEEPERS OF KENYA....she has also schooled children over the years in the basics (since so many are unable to attend government funded schools--they are either orphans or from a single parent household that is living in abject poverty).

Hi Sharon, There are two churches and an orphanage. The name of the orphanage is Blessings. The child orphanage is located in the western part of Kenya in Kisii County. Both are on the West of Kenya. I'll write to Joetta and ask her how far Kisii County is from Ugunju (BTW..you're choosing the COOLEST TEMP time to visit Kenya - our "summer months" are Kenya's most temperate months (temps usually don't leave the 70 degree F range).
