“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
Ps 23: 5
In the Old Testament, three groups of individuals were anointed: the Prophets, the Priests, and the Kings. We can observe that Elisha was anointed just before he began his prophetic ministry. In the Book of Exodus, we see Moses’s brother, Aaron, being anointed as a priest, and later, we witness Samuel anointing the young David as king, even though he was still a shepherd.
Jesus was anointed, he was anointed by a humble, sinful woman who simply wished to show her love for Jesus.
