Sitting in church, I felt I had to post this:
Paul wrote, “I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. I have laboured and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.”
Yet, despite all that, he was able to say:
“I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.” and “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.”
In everything we should have an attitude of gratitude.
Excellent
One of our biggest Mysteries, pain/suffering/sorrows, leads us to the most Grace. It turns out our most prized possessions, the hardest to give up and let go of in our “denial of Self” is those.
But when we empty them at the foot of the Cross of our Lord and Savior, that is when Grace fills us the most. Expanding and exploding all our self imposed barriers to His Mercies.
God Bless, 🙏✝️🙏
